2024
HRDWG-EDNET Project
2024 APEC Industry-Academia Collaboration Workshop on
Best Practices for Inclusive Innovation,
Digital Sustainability and Cross-Regional Talent Development
Background
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and climate crises have caused economic and industrial sector stagnation, while at the same time driving talent shortages in new industries that have emerged during this challenging time. This project will contribute to solving these problems by cultivating better human resource for a sustainable and resilient future, fulfilling APEC 2023 priorities of “enabling an innovative environment for a sustainable future” and “affirming an equitable and inclusive future for all.”
This project aims to promote the inter-ministerial talent cultivation system that is market-driven and enabling. A physical Workshop held in Chinese Taipei in 2024 will gather education policy makers and stakeholders from APEC economies, showcasing best practices for the industry-academia cooperative model that expands the scope of inclusive and innovative talent training. This training will be aligned with newly emerged industries and address ongoing economic challenges.
Objectives
The objective of this project is to better equip APEC economies with talent development and youth employability. This will be accomplished through the building of practical skills, cross-sector collaborations, knowledge-sharing, and a better understanding or market-driven adaptability in order to foster social development and industrial growth through the APEC region, helping to bring to fruition the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040.
